Yuk Wai is recognized as a business visionary for eCommerce in Asia. His expertise and
strengths have been drawn upon my many who seek to take a stake and succeed in the New
Economy, including the governments of Malaysia and Thailand. The government of Thailand
invited Yuk Wai to recommend the conceptual framework for its endeavor to launch Phuket as
the next cyberport city. He also serves as a member of the Malaysian National IT Council
1998-2001, which advisers the Parliament and Cabinet on policy intervention to facilitate
the transformation to a Knowledge Economy,
As a recognized business through leader for eCommerce, Yuk Wai was invited to be a member
of the MasterCard International Advisory Committee for eCommerce 1996-1997, and is
currently a member of the Malaysia national task force for E-Economy, E-Manufacturing,
E-Services and E-Community.
Yuk Wai has been a prominent speaker at several regional conferences focusing on B2B and
B2C eCommerce and the New Economy. This includes the 4th Asia Pacific Telecommunications
Conference (September 1999, Singapore), the A.T. Kearney Symposium on e-procurement
(January 2000, Singapore) and the Merrill Lynch 3rd Asia Pacific Conference (March 2000,
Hong Kong).
A Computer Science graduate from UK, Yuk Wai possesses over 16 years of experience in
business management and IT consultancy. As a senior manager with Andersen Consulting from
1988-1995, he was instrumental for the Asian Institute of Management Award for Excellence
in Operations Management 1994 and SIRIM Excellence Award for Quality Practices 1993. He
was also the Quality Manager and Methodologist for Andersen Consulting and has worked on
projects in industries ranging from banking, oil and gas, distribution to retailing
