KHAIRIL ANUAR ABDULLAH
Executive Chairman, MESDAQ
Mr. Khairil Anuar Abdullah is currently Executive Chairman of MESDAQ Bhd. (Malaysian
Exchange of Securities Dealing & Automated Quotation Bhd.) Malaysia's new securities
exchange catering to growth companies.
Prior to this, he held the post of Director of the Malaysian Securities Commission
responsible for Research and Development from 1993-1997. His portfolio included
Regulations and Law reform, Product Development, Economic Research, Information
Technology, and Securities Industry Development Centre, Accounting Standards and Islamic
Capital Market Development. He also served on the Advisory Committee of the Malaysian
Central Depository and the Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority. From 1995-1997,
he chaired the Working Group on the Regulation of Secondary Markets of the Emerging
Markets Committee of the International organization of Securities Commission IOSCO). In
1996, he served on the Bank of International Settlement/IOSCOO).
Before joining the Commission at its inception, Mr. Khairil spent 10 years each in the
public and private sectors.
Mr Khairil was educated at the Malaysian Royal Military College, read economics at the
University of Malaya and obtained his MBA from Harward Business Systems |
