Shannon Boase
President, Asia, vLinxShannon Boase brings to her
position as President of Asian Operations for vLinx, a successful background in working
with technology-related ventures in Asia. In her new position, based in vLinxs
offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Ms Boase plays an instrumental role in building the
supplier side of vLinx Network. She is responsible for identifying and managing the
qualifying agents who act as vLinx liaisons to suppliers throughout Asia.
Before joining vLinx, Ms Boase was Senior Manager of Client Services
for the Multimedia Development Corporation in Kuala Lumpur. This corporation, established
in 1997, was responsible for creating, driving and building the Multimedia Super Corridor
(MSC), a high-tech zone in Malaysia modeled after Silicon Valley. Ms Boase established the
sales and account management departments to service multinational, regional and domestic
high-tech firms. She also worked with government policy-makers on the development of
investment incentives to attract high-tech companies to Malaysia.
Prior to MSC, She was Vice President of Manager Information Services
Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of a Manager Group, diversified Thai publishing, telecommunications
and information service company. She helped establish the subsidiary as the first on-line,
real-time data and news company in Thailand.
Before that she worked as a consultant for Price Waterhouse
Management Consultants, where she was responsible for planning and implementing market
research and market entry strategies for a range of multinational clients.
Having spent her entire professional career in Asia, Ms. Boase
possesses a unique understanding of Asian culture and business practices. A native of
Canada, Shannon Boase received a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Simon
Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. She received a post Graduate diploma in
Asian Studies from Capilano College in North Vancouver and completed a MBA, specializing
in information technology and strategy in 1995 from Theseus Institute in Sophia Antipolis,
France.
